Bovis Lend Lease Continental Europe, Middle East and Africa (CEMEA) has become an official partner of the Sustainable Energy Europe Campaign, a European Energy Commission initiative to raise public awareness and promote sustainable energy production.
Campaign partners include public and private stakeholders (local, regional and national authorities, industry, energy agencies, associations and NGOs) which are committed to a sustainable energy project or program intended to have a significant impact on the related energy environment in the European Union.

Our submission - Bovis Lend Lease: Actioning our Aspirations was based on the Bovis Lend Lease CEMEA Sustainability Plan for 2009 as well as a summary of our achievements in 2008.

Key actions of the CEMEA 2008-09 sustainability project plan are:

1.
Development of environmental and social filters for the selection of new project opportunities.
2.
Commitment to all new BLL CEMEA offices having a fit-out that meets accreditation with the LEED Commercial & Interiors standard.
3.
Develop a Green Office Guide to assist in reducing our electricity and water consumption and waste production in line with Lend Lease requirements.
4.
Increase substantially our number of LEED Accredited Professionals working for BLL CEMEA
5.
Development of a project Sustainability Guidance Manual and Toolbox to provide technical guidance for project leaders on identifying opportunities to implement sustainability-related initiatives on our projects.
6.
Move further towards ISO14001 accreditation across all of our regions.
7.
Provide monitoring and supporting information on Indoor Air Quality for all of our regional offices.
8.
Ensure that four hours of Sustainability Training is provided for all professional/technical staff as part of the compulsory ‘License to Practice’ (LTP) process that has previously only been applied to health & safety.
9.
Introduction of Sustainability categories as part of our ‘Incident & Injury Free’ Awards.
10.
Sustainability Coordinator roles to be assigned to each project team to act as a central point of information management and sustainability leadership for each project.

Mark Fletcher, CEO of Bovis Lend Lease CEMEA said:
“The use of renewable energy sources and focus on more energy-efficient methods are critical to the preservation of our environment. I am delighted that we are an official partner of a campaign which aims to raise public awareness and promote sustainable energy production.
